Advanced Group Scene Workshop

The Art of Slow Comedy classes were named in Chicago Magazine’s “5 Great Comedy Classes for Fall 2015!”

Advanced Group Scene Workshop — Saturday, March 23, 2019

Do you ever feel lost in larger improv scenes? Is it hard for you to know when to initiate and when to support? Knowing how to be a good supportive player can be a real art. In this workshop, Jimmy will help advanced improvisers learn how to get to the agreement quickly, how to mirror other people’s points of view, how to embrace the chaos while  holding onto your voice. This advanced level workshop will work on three- and four-person scenes and, if time permits, larger group scenes. Because this is advanced level workshop we will only warm up briefly and get right to scene work.

THIS WORKSHOP IS LIMITED TO 12 PEOPLE. REQUIRES INSTRUCTOR APPROVAL. SUBMIT YOUR REQUEST TO JIMCARRANE@GMAIL.COM

March 23, 2019, 1-4 p.m. at Stage 773 (1225 W. Belmont, Chicago)

Only $89 if you register by March 10. ($109 after)

Once you register there are no refunds or transfers for this workshop.

What past students are saying:

“Some people are just born to be teachers, they’ve got that gift. Jimmy has that gift. I’m so grateful to him, and I recommend him to everybody I know… certainly anyone interested in improv, but also actors not interested in improv, and people not interested in acting!”
Mary Redman

“Jimmy is a fantastic improv teacher! I have taken many of his classes, some multiple times, and every time I learn something new! I couldn’t recommend The Art of Slow Comedy more!”
