The Art of Slow Comedy is a fresh approach to scenic improvisation, based on the idea before you can be funny you need to be real. In this award-winning improv workshop, you will be introduced to Jimmy Carrane’s unique method and learn how to connect with your partner so your scene work will be more grounded and real, making improvisation as easy as having a conversation.
You will be amazed how easy and fun it is to work this way, leading you to some of your best improv yet. This workshop is for seasoned improvisers looking for a new approach and actors who are new to improv. In this three-hour workshop we will focus on:
- Tapping into your vulnerability and being more honest in your improv
- Playing the reality of the scene and reacting emotionally to heighten the circumstances
- Instantly connecting with you partner on a unspoken level, giving you a road map to the scene
- Learning to trust your instincts and access your life experiences
