Description
A little improv can make your life even more happy, joyous, and free. People are often scared to try it, until they realize that improv is all about not doing it alone. (Where have you heard that before?) Improv is about everyone supporting everyone else, and when we build off other people's ideas, we will create something beyond our wildest dreams. The best part is it is fun, really fun. Did I say fun? You will laugh throughout this workshop as you learn not to take yourself too seriously.
This workshop is taught by Jimmy Carrane who has taught improv for over 30 years at the Second City, IO-Chicago, The Annoyance Theater, The Laughing Academy and for Fortune 500 companies. He has written books on the subject and hosted a very popular podcast, Improv Nerd.
In this two-hour workshop you will learn the basic concepts of improv, such as:
- Being in the moment
- How to collaborating with other people by saying "yes, and"
- How to build confidence to think on your feet
- Learning what it's like to surrender to a group
- Active listening
The Improv For Recovery Workshop is for those people who want to experience more joy and laughter in their lives.
