Description

Everyone can improvise, especially actors. Improvising can be as easy as having a conversation. Actors think they need a script, but they are wrong.

Improvising is acting. And when they apply their acting skill to improv, they will see how easy and fun it can be and feel more confident that they can do it. Jimmy Carrane has been teaching improv in Chicago for more than 30 years and has written three books on the subject, and he has taught everyone from very beginners to seasoned actors how to improvise.

In this 6-week class you will learn how to:

  • Trust your instincts on a whole new level
  • Make bolder choices
  • Be more vulnerable
  • Bring more playfulness and spontaneity to your acting

This class is for actors and people new to improv and culminates in a show for invited family and friends. The show is optional for students and will be at Green Shirt Studio on Saturday, June 15 at 7 p.m. There is no class on June 15 in the morning.

At Green Shirt Studio, 4001 N. Ravenswood, Suite 303B, Chicago
