May 19: Improv for Actors Workshop

Description

Everyone can improvise, especially actors. Improvising can be as easy as having a conversation. Actors think they need a script, but they are wrong. Improvising is acting. And when they apply their acting skill to improv, they will see how easy and fun it can be and feel more confident that they can do it. Jimmy Carrane has been teaching improv in Chicago for more than 30 years and has written three books on the subject, and he has taught everyone from very beginners to seasoned actors how to improvise.

In this two-hour workshop you will learn how to:

  • Trust your instincts on a whole new level
  • Take the pressure off yourself to be funny (it will come naturally)
  • Make bolder choices
  • Be more vulnerable
  • Bring more playfulness and spontaneity to your acting
