Description
Top teacher Jimmy Carrane's truth-based approach gives students the tools to make long-form scene work as easy as having a conversation! In this 6-week class, students will use a series of curated games and exercises to help them leverage and build on short-form improv skills to create fully improvised scenes.
- Improvising one line at time
- Object work and environments
- Making strong emotional choices
- Creating believable dialogue
- Finding humor from the situation/characters
The session will culminate in a showcase performance by the class at Oil Lamp Theater. The showcase performance will include a combination of short-form games and long-form scenes.
Thursdays, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Sept. 10 to Oct. 8, with a show on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.
At Oil Lamp Theater, 1009 Waukegan Road, Glenview
This class is limited to 16 people.
